Stranding!

I'm planning on waiting to post pictures of my real gift FOs when they're actually being worn on their recipients, but I got too excited about this one to hold out even until I finished making it.

I started this hat last night around 10:30, and was so excited I didn't stop until I finished the colorwork section. It's not perfect, and I know everyone and their dog Sandy has already tried stranded colorwork, but this was my first time and I love it.

I love the colors you're using. What yarn is that? And are you having any issues with pulling? That was the hardest thing for me to deal with when I tried standing (of course, I made up my own pattern, and it wasn't exactly great XD).

Thanks! The pink is the amazingly soft Swish Superwash in Bordeaux (which I'm thinking of making my sweater in... either that or a maroony color, haven't decided) and the cream is Wool of the Andes in Natural. There are some irregular spots, but I think the reason I haven't had much problem with pulling is because everyone kept warning me about it. XD I really made an effort to knit loosely, especially with the yarn I was knitting English-style with, since I haven't done it in so long.

I don't think I've ever seen that stranding project of yours... send? :)

I'll photograph it when I stumble across my camera card... I've misplaced it...

Wow, that looks really nice! You are doing a great job with the pattern!

(Found your post via Technorati, where I was doing an egosearch to see who links to my blog.) :-)
